LOGROÑO BY BIKE

  • LOGROÑO IS HISTORY Logroño is a city rich in history and traditions that have been preserved since the Middle Ages. The Camino de Santiago made this town one of the most important on the Camino. Our streets are closely linked to the traditional path of pilgrims.

  • GASTRONOMY The rich Riojan orchards allow us to prepare some of the specialities that made the Riojan culinary tradition so well known. Asparagus, beans, peppers, artichokes and other vegetables and legumes become the basis of a long list of dishes such as vegetable stew, Rioja potatoes, lamb and goat chops on the branch or our beloved stuffed peppers. Typical desserts are pears in wine, fardelejos from Arnedo (puff pastry with almond paste) or marzipan from Soto (made with sugar and ground almonds).

  • WINE La Rioja is synonymous with great Spanish wines. For decades, La Rioja wines, protected by their own Denomination of Origin, have been a must-see throughout Spain and abroad. We suggest you take a bike ride through the green belt of Logroño. The Ebro River Park has a great bike route, suitable for everyone and perfect for children. You can take the tour for as long as you like, making a few stops at the Casa de las Ciencias museum, the Wine Bar of the Franco Españolas wineries or even stopping for a picnic in Iregua Park along the Via Romana. A more demanding route tailored to the client is also possible.

ROUTE OF THE PILGRIM, FUENMAYOR, RIOJA ALAVESA

1 journal

  • Distance: 22km

  • Duration: 2-4 hours.
Route: Logroño Camino de Santiago - Parque de la Grajera

This place will delight children (large playgrounds, bird watching and a small farm). We can continue for a few more kilometers to Navarrete, a beautiful town with a pilgrim atmosphere whose patrimonial complex is considered of interest, historical and artistic. The church has a very famous baroque altarpiece, as well as Roman ruins in the cemetery and a castle on the top of the hill that presides over the town. Such an ideal town to eat or drink.

Don Jacobo Corral Winery.
Restaurants El molino or El albero.
This route can be extended or combined with the Ebro route if wanted.
