Logroño By Bike

LOGROÑO IS HISTORY
Logroño is a city rich in history and traditions that have been preserved since the Middle Ages. The Camino de Santiago made this town of the most important ones on The Way.
Our streets are closely linked to the traditional passage of pilgrims.

GASTRONOMY
The rich Riojan vegetable garden allows to elaborate some of the specialties that made the Riojan culinary tradition so well-known. Asparagus, beans, peppers, artichokes and other vegetables and legumes become the basis of a long list of dishes such as vegetable stew, La Rioja potatoes, chops lamb and kid to the branch or our beloved stuffed peppers. Typical desserts are pears to the wine, fardelejos of Arnedo (puff pastry with almond paste) or the marzipans of Soto (made with sugar and ground almonds).

WINE
La Rioja is a synonym for great Spanish wines. For decades, La Rioja wines, protected by their own Denomination of Origin, are an obligatory reference throughout Spain and abroad. We suggest to take a bike ride through the green belt of Logroño. The Ebro river park has a great bike route, suitable for everyone and perfect for children.

You can make the route as long as you want by making some stops at the museum Casa de las Ciencias, the Wine Bar of Franco Españolas wineries or even stopping for a picnic in the Iregua Park by the Roman Way. We can include, at the end of the tour, a visit to an old Calado or an enogastronomic activity with the wine educator.

Duration: 1/2 day or full day, you choose.
Self-guided with map or GPS (optional).

Route of the pilgrim, Fuenmayor, Rioja Alavesa

This is a simple, 22 km route, from Logroño along the Camino de Santiago to La Grajera park. A great place to walk around.

This place will delight children (large playgrounds, bird watching and a small farm). We can continue for a few more kilometers to Navarrete, a beautiful town with a pilgrim atmosphere whose patrimonial complex is considered of interest, historical and artistic. The church has a very famous baroque altarpiece, as well as Roman ruins in the cemetery and a castle on the top of the hill that presides over the town. Such an ideal town to eat or drink.

Duration: 2-4 hours.
Distance: 22km.
Bodega corral Don Jacobo.
Restaurants El molino or El albero.
This route can be extended or combined with the Ebro route if wanted.

" Un paseo para repetir Una experiencia que repetiríamos sin ninguna duda. Pasear en bicicleta siempre es una forma estupenda de disfrutar de los paisajes y si son los viñedos de Rioja, más. Nos ofrecieron una ruta adaptada a nuestros horarios. "
